A little more about me
I'm a wife and mom.
I have one wonderful daughter, Abigail, and an amazing husband, John. We currently live in Nebraska, but will move to California next year for my husband's work with the Air Force.
I'm a veteran.
I met my husband when I was in the Air Force myself. I served for eight years as an intelligence analyst and I loved it! I would tell you more, but it's super-secret-squirrel stuff. Just kidding! Well, sort of. Actually, I did so much, I wouldn't know where to start. Check out my LinkedIn profile or my resume if you're interested.
I'm a student.
I'm always trying to learn new things. Right now, I'm a graduate student in San Jose State University's School of Information. I'm working on a Master's in Library and Information Science. I love being able to help people find the information they need to make informed decisions about their lives.
And last, but not least, I'm a proofreader.
I find that proofreading transcripts is the perfect fit for my personality and lifestyle. I'm methodical, analytical, inquisitive, and overall, I enjoy the cognitive challenges of proofreading. With my husband still in the military, I also want to work from home so I don't have to worry about finding a new job every time we move.
While I have experience in general proofreading for school assignments, instructional materials, and intelligence products, I also have specialized training in proofreading court transcripts. I completed a rigorous, hands-on training program titled Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice™, which includes over 3,000 pages of practice transcripts. I have lifetime access to the course materials, which are always updated with the latest industry standards and trends.
